Yesterday morning, Bella found a ski hat that Gordie had given me and she quickly tried it on. She asked me who gave it to me and I told her. Then she wanted to call him right away but it was 8am and I am sure he was well on his way to work. Well, apparently she wore the hat all day long because when I came home it was still on her head. At about 6pm, she remebered again and asked if we could call so we did. Well, Gordie was in wrapping something up and told me he would call me back right away. So Bella thought that I didn't let her talk to him. He called back 20 min. later of which Bella cried for the entire 20 min. When he called back she answered, still crying and said "I miss you Pino. I love you Pino" Gordie claims that he dreamt about her the past 2 nights. Those 2 are 1 person, I swear! There is something seriously wrong with the person that misses Pino that much!

It's Gaby's turn!
So Gaby woke up this morning with a fever of 101.6. She insisted that she wanted to go to school and although I tried to convince her she really didn't seem sick other than the fever. So I gave her some Motrin and sent her off to school. So, I let her teachers know and they did not accept her saying that she needs to be fever free for 24 hours before being admitted back into school. I must have looked like quite the Mother of the Year! Luckily for me Gaby pitched a fit at school saying that she wanted to stay and she didn't know why she couldn't go to school today. Ms. Robin had to explain to her that she is sick and needs to go home and get better. The only thing that finally made her feel better is that Ms. Robin sent home homework for her to do and turn in when she returns on Tues. Yes, my child is strange!
Tonight her fever is teetering around 100. She will be visiting the Dr tomorrow if the fever is still lingering in the morning.

Sibling Rivalry
The girls have been engaging in some fierce sibling rivalry. Bella has been heading that project. Gaby lately has not wanted to get up from her chair for anything, because every time she gets up Bella takes her chair. Gaby is requesting things handed to her so that Bella won't take her chair.
You should have seen Gaby trying to figure out a way to get her cup of milk from the kitchen without leaving her seat. She finally decided to run for it. They reached the chair at the same time but Bella, being the little sister, decided the only way she was going to win this one was to push her off. Of course Bella was reprimanded for this.
Then when Gaby was done with her milk she wanted me to go and pick it up. I quickly reminded Gaby that I don't run a restaurant so she had to make a run for it again. She lost out this time to which Gaby screamed and Bella replied "you're not sitting here anymore!"
I can't wait till they are 15!

Update on Red Chief
Bella had quite the fever on Wed night (103.6) Dr. said it's an ear infection. She was not herself on Thurs but all will be happy to know that her fever has dropped to 101 and although her ear still hurts she is in better spirits...that's my Bella! The good thing is she loves taking the antibiotic... "mmm... strawberry" We were beginning to miss the Red Chief!
The Second Show
Ok, so my girl came back with a vengeance!!! She just needed a bit of practice and some time. I will say that I am fearful of Stacy wrestler lady and that Giselle lady. Jerry Rice made a good showing due to his agility.
I am glad that Drew bit it yesterday!
Fingers crossed for tonight... that hoodlum has to be gone.

Gaby (Ash)Leigh
Today we went over to see Uncle Rob and Aunt Leigh since we hadn't seen them since before Christmas. The girls once again were showered with gifts (and I thought Christmas was over). Joe and the girls stayed visting with them while I went to work and when it was time to leave no one wanted to go. Joe needed to get the girls lunch still and was even promising McDonalds. Well, Gaby wouldn't have it. She was not leaving. Joe said "alright, then you are staying." She said fine. So Joe and Bella ran to Mickey-D's while Gaby stayed with Leigh. They all had lunch together. Then it was time to leave for real and it took Leigh carrying Gaby to the car in order for her leave. Well, at least we can now add Leigh to our list of babysitters!!!

The 1st Results Show
Ok, I will be the first to admit (only because I can't deny it) Tia Carrera and I almost bit it yesterday. Give us some slack! The woman just had a baby and I didn't count on the fact that the people that would vote for her, moms, don't have time to watch! So that's fine, if I am the first person out, I will stay home with the girls while the rest of you have fun. I will chalk up that day as any other and stay home with the girls while the world passes me by.... story of my life.
Please comment if I've guilted you into voting for her next week!

Smarter than the average bear (or chief)
On Thurs Bella had her 2 yr old doctors visit. We had to fill out a questionaire which measures her development and apptitude. The questionairre is for 2-4 yr old development and she rocked! We completed the form without ever having answered no 3 consecutive times (at which point you are supposed to stop). Among the questions there were colors, animal identification and questions on physical development. There was one question that asked "What do you do when you are cold?" Bella said "get blanket" The next was "What do you do when you are tired?" Bella answered "take nap". The last question was "What do you do when you are hungry?" Bella appropriately answered "McDonalds" Thanks grandpa!
The doctor concurred with what we already knew... Bella is far more advanced than where she should be. Dr Sapp was leaving the room and was saying bye to Bella. She said "Bye Dr Sapp" and she blew him a great big kiss! He looked a little puzzled but still returned her kiss at which point Bella launched him one of the biggest airborne kisses I'd ever seen. That's our Red Chief.

All Growns Up
Tonight over dinner, Gaby tried to convince us that she didn't want to be a "little kid" anymore. She swears she's ready to be "big people". We did our best to convince her that being grown up isn't all it's cracked up to be. We told her that she would no longer be allowed to play, she could no longer go to school, and that she would in fact have to get a job. She wanted to know why she couldn't go to school anymore and we told her that she wouldn't have the time if she had to work. She still insisted that she no longer wishes to be "little" and so we told her that I would call the school and let them know. She said fine. We then deemed her "big people" She didn't miss a step when immediately she asked "Good, can I have some gum now?"
Score 1 for Gaby!

No Pictures Please!
Today I took Bella in for her 2 year picture. Let's just say she was a little less than willing to partake in a photo shoot. She loved to be in her dress and was happy going there but once the session started she didn't want anything to do with it. It took bribery of a McDonalds lunch and the purchase of a candy cane to convince her. In the end, she sat for a picture but I know it could have been so much better. (Scroll down to see princess picture) I guess she was having an off day as a model... It must be rough to be so frequently photographed!

Tea anyone?

Today Gaby attended her first dress-up tea party, hosted by Gaby's friend Madelyn. Madelyn was a gracious host and offered Gaby tea, appetizers, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich lunch and mixed fruit for dessert. The girls had a great time dressing up and switched outfits at the end of the party. I too enjoyed the tea party with a glass of wine!
