Sibling Rivalry - Part Deux

Is everyone familiar with the statue of the giant man carrying the house on Grand Ave & Rt. 41? I know that we've all driven by it. Whenever we pass it we need to say hi to him. "Hi man carrying the house with the hammer." On Tuesday we passed by on the way to Gaby's school. Gaby must not have been paying attention because she missed saying hi. so she turns the best that she can and says hi. Bella of course, being the little sister that she is, tells her that he has already passed. The following occurs:
G - "but I turned around and saw him and said hi"
B - "no, he already passed, you missed him."
G - "No, I didn't... I saw him"
B - shouts "No he passed. You missed it."
G - I DID NOT! I SAW HIM! MOMMY!
B - "YOU DID NOT! HE PASSED!"
G - "MOMMY! TELL BELLA!"
B - "MOMMY! HE PASSED"
M - Ok, Gaby saw the man when he passed and now he's behind us. You are both right.
B - "No, Gaby did not see him, only I saw him."
G - "I did see it. Bella, stop saying words to me"
M - Girls! Gaby you know that you saw him so just leave it alone. Bella, leave your sister alone"
B - "I'm just saying. It passed"
G - "I DID SEE IT!"
B - "I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU! I'M JUST TALKING!"
G - MOMMY!
B - "I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU! I'M JUST TALKING!"

good grief! I can't wait for the real fighting to begin.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed!

So the girls have moved in together. Gaby finally has her "big girl" bedroom set and Bella is occupying the toddler bed. The new bed arrived on Tuesday, so needless to say both girls slept with me that night. Gaby is actually fine sleeping in her new bed with her new princess bedding. At bedtime, I tucked them both in and said goodnight. Not 15 minutes later, they were running around upstairs. When I went to check on them Gaby said "Mommy, I was sleeping, but Bella just keeps talking and talking. She woke me up Mommy." Ah, it starts already.

Bella will have a harder time adjusting at the notion that she can get out of this bed. But she thinks it's a new bed altogether because he bought her new bedding. That is until Gaby reminds her that it is her old bed. We tell Gaby that it is Bella's new bed... at least it's not a lie. We need to play the "new bed is better" card in order for Belle to be interested enough to stay in it. She still hasn't slept in it. Yesterday she insisted on sleeping in the crib. We'll see what happens.
