American Idol... Lopez style

The people of American Idol got nothin' on us! Gaby and Bella rediscovered their keyboard with attached and working microphone. They entertained us all night with their versions of "The ABC song" and "I'm a Little Teapot" We were even treated to an original by Gaby titled "When I was a little peanut" It was really a sight to see.

Tiny Dancers

The next time you visit Chateau Lopez you will be in for a treat! Gaby and Bella had parent observation at their ballet class last weekend, and of course we got it all on tape. They preformed like the true ballerinas that they are. They were up the night before practicing their plies and other dance moves. Gaby was the star of the show, and no this is not the stage mom talking. She really was so much better than the other children. The sheer look of determination on her face and her complete focus on her teacher while doing all of the movements. Julliard here we come!

Gaby down for the count again

Well, Gaby is sick yet again! She has an ear infection in both ears. She started with a runny nose over the weekend and had a fever come Monday. The fever disappeared by Tuesday but came back Wed along with the complaint of an earache. So off to the doctor we went today. She is on antibiotics yet again. The doctor is pretty sure that this will not evolve into anything further. We will hope not!

Gaby, the not so cool kid

Well, the pressure to fit in among her peers has finally set in. Yesterday Gaby informed me that she did not have rain boots like the other kids and therefore could not partake in puddle jumping. She said that the teacher told her that she could not jump in the puddles because of her lack of rain gear but all the kids with the rain boots and rain jackets could jump in puddles. I tried to explain to her that I did know that and that while she was in school I had run out like a mad woman to hunt down this highly needed rain gear. I told her that I got them in her favorite colors... pink & purple. I got no bonus points for the color of the essential items that I purchased since she did not have them when she needed them. Again, I cannot wait till she's 15!

We're B-A-A-ACK!

OK, so we know you all have missed us. We are back and we are all healthy. The fevers have gone away and the cough no longer lingers. Bella has 3 days left on her antibiotic and hopefully we will be done for this year. Gaby is back at school and they will be going to Ballet this Sat for the first time in 3 weeks. We have paid our dues this year... we should be good through the at least the summer. We hope.

No real shenanigans to report since the girls were sick. There wasn't a whole lot of time for it because they were mostly laying on the couch or on me.

Chico continues to grow. I have given in and dug out the maternity clothes. Although they are still a bit big they are much more comfortable than stuffing myself in my regular pants. Poor chico!

Stay tuned as our blog continues to highlight the tomfoolery that ensues as Chateau Lopez!!!!!
